Taking Off from Conroe

This week, we decided to take a break from our usual routine and hop into the skies for a training flight. We kicked things off at Conroe, where the weather was perfect for practicing some takeoff and landings. As always, there’s something exhilarating about climbing into the cockpit and feeling the power of the aircraft beneath you. It’s the kind of excitement that never gets old!

Destination Hearne, Texas

After a smooth takeoff, our first stop was Hearne, Texas. This quaint little town is known for its friendly atmosphere and, more importantly, it’s a great spot for pilots looking to polish their skills. We spent some time in the air practicing maneuvers, enjoying the clear Texas skies. There’s nothing quite like honing your flying abilities while soaking in beautiful views from the cockpit!

Lunch at Gate 12 in College Station

Following our training exercises in Hearne, it was time to head to College Station, Texas, where we planned to unwind with a nice lunch. We landed at Easterwood Airport and parked at Astin FBO, which is always a breeze. After disembarking, we made our way over to Gate 12, a charming restaurant right on the airport grounds. The atmosphere was lively, and the location just couldn’t be beaten!

As we settled in by the window, we were treated to an incredible view. We watched navy planes come in and out, performing touch and goes right outside our table. It was thrilling to see such precision flying and made for a perfect backdrop while we enjoyed our meal. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend making a stop at Gate 12. The food was delicious and the aviation theme added a special touch!

Heading Back to Conroe

After a satisfying lunch, it was time to return to Conroe. We hopped back into our trusty aircraft, energized from our meal and excited about the flight ahead. The trip back was smooth sailing, allowing us to reflect on the day’s adventures. Sometimes, it’s not just about flying but the experiences you gather along the way. And today certainly delivered!

So there you have it: a quick training flight that took us from Conroe to Hearne, and finally to College Station for a tasty meal at Gate 12, and back. Every flight offers its own unique adventures, and we can’t wait for the next one!
